Searching for Easter's Promise: John Dominic Crossan

Searching for Easter's Promise: John Dominic Crossan

In this wide-ranging interview, we talk to the world-renowned and controversial Bible scholar about his new book, Resurrecting Easter.

The book is a fifteen year detective story to find a missing understanding of Easter, which Crossan claims was lost in the mists of time. Crossan and his wife, professional photographer Sarah Crossan, take a journey across the near and middle east to discover images of Christ that rearrange western understandings of the Christian resurrection.

You can hear an extended interview with John Dominic Crossan (commercial free!), as well as other bonus audio, when you support us with a monthly Patreon donation. Thank you!

Crossan is a co-founder of "The Jesus Seminar," a group of scholars that set out to recover the historical grounding of the Bible's claims about the words and deeds of Jesus and the other Apostles. As a result of this work, he is generally acknowledged to be the premier historical Jesus scholar in the world. His books include The Historical Jesus, Jesus: A Revolutionary Biography, and Who Killed Jesus? He recently appeared in the PBS special "From Jesus to Christ."
