Talking About Weird Religion: Leah Payne and Brian Doak [Rebroadcast]

In 2018, religion scholars Dr. Leah Payne and Dr. Brian Doak teamed up to launch the podcast Weird Religion, an award-winning podcast “for people who know religion is weird, but love it anyway.”

In the years since their work on the show has taken them to the woods of the Pacific Northwest to hunt for Bigfoot, and to the wilds of Sci-Fi and UFO conventions. Along the way, they have explored liturgies, rituals, and the religious overlaps to be found in pop culture.

It’s an amazing show, and here at Things Not Seen we are big fans. Leah and Brian join host David Dault to talk about the big ideas and loving appreciation that forms the heart of Weird Religion.
