Live from Southwestern College with Jacob Goodson and Jackson Lashier

We take our show on the road to Southwestern College in Kansas for a wide ranging conversation about morality, economics, and education. Host David Dault interviews philosopher Jacob Goodson and theologian Jackson Lashier in front of a live studio audience at the Wheat State Winery, near the campus.

Southwestern College has its roots in the tradition of the Methodist circuit riders, whose love of education helped shape the educational landscape of the 19th century. Founded in 1885 by the Southwest Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, the college graduated its first class of three students June 3, 1889. The City of Winfield contributed resources to the original campus. In 1909 its name was changed from Southwest Kansas Conference College to Southwestern College, and in 1917 the school earned accreditation by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges.

Dr. Goodson's most recent publications are Strength of Mind: Courage, Hope, Freedom, Knowledge (Cascade Press, 2018) and Introducing Prophetic Pragmatism, with Brad Elliott Stone, (Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, 2019). He has edited multiple books.

Dr. Lashier has a passion for connecting the historic doctrines of the church to everyday lives of Christians. He is the author of Irenaeus on the Trinity (Brill, 2014) and numerous scholarly articles in academic journals such as Vigiliae Christianae and Greek Orthodox Theological Review.
