Remembering Phyllis Tickle: Jon Sweeney
In the early 1990s, educator and entrepreneur Phyllis Tickle embarked on her third career, as the inaugural editor of the new religion section at Publishers Weekly. At around that same time, she met Jon M. Sweeney. Their friendship lasted through the transition to her fourth career - that of a bestselling author - and up until her death.
Sweeney has now come out with an authorized biography, Phyllis Tickle: A Life. The book is an honest and eye-opening look at this influential and complex figure in late 20th century American religion.
